- August 15, 1997: The Coalition Party of Free Vietnam was established.
- April 30, 1998: The Frontier Conference at KC 702 (Free zone between Thai and Cambodian border) was held with more than 100 overseas delegates and nearly 300 delegates from Vietnam. Vietnamese Communists launched an assault irrespective of Public International Law, killing 4 freedom fighters.
- June 26, 1998: Thai government deported Nguyen back to the United States.
- January 18, 1999: on Radio Free Vietnam (RFVN), Nguyen called for a demonstration against Tran Truong who hoisted the Communist flag in Westminster, CA. The next morning he returned to Indo-China with some members of “Bao Long Liberators” group to infiltrate into Vietnam in order to launch a campaign to scatter anti-communist leaflets and national flags (3 red stripes in yellow background) in Saigon, Nha Trang, Bien Hoa, My Tho and Can Tho, as well as demolishing Ho Chi Minh statue in Saigon and Can Tho.
- On the way to Thai Lan by land, Nguyen was captured again by Thai security forces on May 6, 1999. Thanks to the interventions of Sen. John Mc Cain, Bob Smith and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Nguyen was released and back to U.S. on June 26, 1999.
- August 15, 1999: Youth of Free Vietnam and Radio of Free Vietnam (broadcasting to Vietnam) were established.
- April 30, 2000: Nguyen was nominated as President of Coalition Party of Free Vietnam.
- August 15, 2000: Nguyen renounced and handed over the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Peace Campaign to Gen. Linh Quang Vien and secretly returned to Thailand and Vietnam for the third time to establish the National Self-Determination Front in Vietnam, consisting of 14 organizations, political parties, religious groups and Communist defectors to prepare for the Peace Campaign which would be launched in Vietnam in April 2001.
- June 20, 2001: after leaving Vietnam for the United States, Nguyen headed to the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Taiwan and Thailand (4th time) to mobilize and build financial foundation for the organization to meet the needs for the upcoming campaign.
- June 30, 2002: a conference of the Alliance of Vietnamese People was held at Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California, proposing the plan to prosecute the Communist Party of Vietnam in the International Court of Justice.
Due to the overwhelming opinion of the participants, the conference became the National People’s Convention. More than 6,000 compatriots had elected Nguyen as Prime Minister of Provisional Government of Free Vietnam with responsibility for carrying out the procedure for suing the Communist Party of Vietnam in order to eradicate the totalitarian Communist regime ruling Vietnam.
- January 19, 2003: the Provisional Government of Free Vietnam was inaugurated at Bren Event Center in the University of California, Irvine (UCI), Southern California. Over 4000 people attended the event, Nguyen solemnly presented the 3 branches Legislature, Executive and Judiciary of Provisional Government of Free Vietnam.
- March 15-16, 2003: a high-level talk about the 3 branches of the Provisional Government of Free Vietnam was convened in Southern California. Nguyen officially resigned from his position as Prime Minister to return to Asia, expediting the process of the struggle for the cessation of Communism in Vietnam.
- February 22, 2004: Nguyen left the United States for Ghana by invitation from Ghanaian President to build up the system of Development and Investment in Asia and Africa.
- September 10, 2004: Nguyen moved the entire Staff to the Island of Saipan (CNMI) to prepare for the Operation General Offensive in Vietnam in 2005.
- Nguyen returned to the United States to attend the National People’s Convention (II) which was held at Anaheim Convention Center. Head of State Nguyen Khanh was officially elected as leader of Government of Free Vietnam. Admiral Lam Nguon Tanh was appointed as Prime Minister of the Government in April 2005.
- After the National People’s Convention (II), Nguyen and Gen. Nguyen Khanh returned to Saipan to cooperate with the Domestic Revolutionary Council in preparation for the Operation General Offensive.
- April 4, 2006: Nguyen left Saipan Airport for South Korea to receive aid from Korean benefactors who were supporting the Operation General Offensive.
- June 4, 2006: Nguyen was arrested at a hotel by Korean police following the request of the Hanoi Administration that he had to be extradited to Vietnam to face a charge of “TERRORISM”.
- Many communities, international organizations and governments around the world as well as the United Nations had intervened and demanded an immediate release of Nguyen although Tran Duc Luong (President of Vietnam) had officially dispatched a diplomatic note to South Korean President, requesting for the extradition of Nguyen in accordance with the Extradition Treaty signed between two nations in 2004.
- After 4 months of detention and waiting for trial in South Korea, Nguyen finally was acquitted on all charges by South Korea's Supreme Court. They ruled that he has indeed spent his life fighting for Democracy and Human Rights in Vietnam, rather than maliciously accused as a TERRORIST according to the allegations from Hanoi Administration.
- September 20, 2007: Nguyen, Gen. Nguyen Khanh and the Religious Delegation were invited to the hearing of the United Nations regarding Human Rights.
- September 22, 2008: The Vietnamese National Party asked Nguyen to return to take the leading role of the Party (Secretary General).
- September 9, 2009: Nguyen inaugurated the television station GLOBAL TV, broadcasting 24/24 and 2 other local stations 57.8 California and 51.5 Houston TX. (GlobalTVLive.net)
- At the Party Convention in 2014, Nguyen authorized Nguyen Khac Chinh the position of Prime Minister to lead the Alliance of the Vietnamese People until now **.
